La Strada is a women's watch line from the Swiss house of Chopard, where watchmaking meets jewellery: a rectangular case with softly curved sides and calm geometry in the spirit of the 1950s. The series takes its name from Federico Fellini's 1954 film, and the anatomically curved caseback follows the shape of the wrist — in photographs the watch looks substantial, but on the wrist it sits close and does not catch on a cuff.
La Strada versions differ in metal and finish: cases in stainless steel and 18-carat yellow, white and rose gold, with plain bezels or diamond setting. Inside are quartz and mechanical calibres; quartz keeps the jewellery case slim. A model may come on a bracelet with a hidden folding clasp or on an alligator leather strap.
The main choices are case metal, whether there are diamonds and which movement: quartz is more practical for everyday wear, mechanical more interesting for those who care about the movement itself. One example is reference 48/7720, with a 23 × 34.5 mm case in 18-carat (750) yellow gold set with classic-cut diamonds.
Other women's collections from the brand include Happy Sport, Happy Diamonds, Imperiale and Ice Cube.
