Piaget was founded in 1874 by Georges-Édouard Piaget in La Côte-aux-Fées in the Swiss Jura, first as a maker of movements. It became known for ultra-thin mechanical calibres, notably the 9P of 1957 and the 12P of 1960, and for combining watchmaking with jewellery, including dials made from hardstones.
The Limelight Gala is a ladies' watch with an asymmetric case and long curved lugs, often set with diamonds. The Sixtie, with its trapeze-shaped case, draws on the brand's designs of the 1960s. Other key collections include the Altiplano ultra-thin watches, the Polo sports watch and the Possession watches and jewellery with rotating rings.
