Van Cleef & Arpels

Van Cleef & Arpels was founded in Paris in 1896 by Alfred Van Cleef and Salomon Arpels, and opened its boutique on Place Vendôme in 1906. The house is known for its patented Mystery Set technique, in which stones are set without visible prongs, and for poetic designs inspired by nature, dance and fairy tales.

The best-known collection is Alhambra, created in 1968 around a four-leaf clover motif and available in Vintage, Magic and Sweet sizes. Other lines include Frivole, Perlée and Lucky Spring with its plum blossom motifs, as well as the Poetic Complications watches and high-jewellery pieces.
