L'Epée was founded in 1839 by Auguste L'Epée in eastern France and became known for carriage clocks and escapements. Now operating as L'Epée 1839 in Delémont, Switzerland, it specialises in high-end mechanical clocks.
Alongside traditional designs it produces sculptural clocks in partnership with independent designers and watchmakers, including Fiona Krüger, whose Vanitas skull clocks are part of the range, MB&F and Konstantin Chaykin.
