01What Cookies Are
Our Services may use persistent and temporary “cookies” and similar technologies (collectively, “cookies”). Cookies are small text files sent to your computer for record-keeping purposes and this information is stored in a file on your computer’s hard drive. A persistent cookie retains user preferences for a particular website allowing those preferences to be used in future browsing sessions and remains valid until its set expiry date (unless deleted by the user before the expiry date). A temporary cookie, on the other hand, will expire at the end of the user session, when the web browser is closed.
02Cookies We Use
We keep cookies to a minimum. Our own website cookies are:
- Session cookie (PHPSESSID) — keeps the website working during your visit, for example when you send a request form. It is deleted when you close your browser.
- Recently viewed (WL_VIEWED) — remembers up to 12 items you have looked at, to show them in the “Recently viewed” section. Stored for 90 days.
- Favorites (WL_FAVORITES) — remembers the items you have added to your favorites. Stored for one year.
- Viewed stories (WL_STORY_VIEWED) — remembers which stories you have already watched, to show new ones first. Stored for 30 days.
When you send a form, your name and phone number may also be saved in your browser’s local storage, so that you do not have to enter them again next time. This data stays on your device.
03Analytics and Advertising
To understand how visitors use our website and to measure and improve our advertising, we use analytics and advertising tools from the following services. They may set their own cookies and receive information about your visit, such as the pages you view, your device and browser, and your approximate location:
- Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager and Google Ads (Google LLC)
- Yandex Metrica (Yandex), including session replay to improve the website
- Meta Pixel (Meta Platforms, Inc.)
- OpenAI advertising pixel (OpenAI)
We do not use these tools to identify you personally. You can opt out by blocking third-party cookies in your browser, using the Google Analytics opt-out add-on, or adjusting your ad preferences in your Google, Meta and Yandex accounts.
04Managing Cookies
You can block or delete cookies at any time in your browser settings. The website will still work, but the “Recently viewed” section and your favorites will not be saved. For more information on how we handle personal data, please see our Privacy Policy.
