Vacheron Constantin Overseas

ABOUT COLLECTION

Vacheron Constantin Overseas is the sports collection from one of the world's oldest watchmaking houses. The line traces its lineage to the 222 of 1977 and became a collection in its own right in 1996. It is recognised by three features: a bezel inspired by the Maltese cross, the brand's emblem; a bracelet integrated into the case; and alternating satin-finished surfaces and polished bevels.

The Overseas has three generations. The first is identified by references 42042 and 12050: the COSC-certified Overseas Chronometer and the ladies' Overseas Lady's. The second generation arrived in 2004, with five-digit references 47040, 47450 and 49150 and automatic calibres 1126, 1222 SC and 1137. The current, third generation has been produced since 2016. It is identified by references with the letter V, such as 4500V, 5500V and 7900V, in-house calibres and the brand's quick-change system for bracelets and straps.

The choice within the line is by function, material and bracelet. The core three-hand models with date are the Overseas Automatic Date 41 mm and Overseas Self-Winding Steel Blue Dial 41 mm, powered by calibre 5100 with a 60-hour power reserve and a 22 ct gold rotor. For travel there are the Overseas Dual Time, with a second time zone and day/night indicator, and the Overseas Worldtimer. For timing, the Overseas Chronograph. Among the grand complications are the Overseas Ultra-Thin Perpetual Calendar and the Overseas Tourbillon. Cases come in steel and in rose, yellow and white gold; the Dual Time 47450/000W-9511 combines a steel case with a titanium bezel.

Each listing gives the reference, calibre, size, power reserve, water resistance, strap, condition and what is included.
