The Métiers d'Art collection from Vacheron Constantin unites fine watchmaking with traditional crafts that the manufacture has preserved over the centuries. In this series the brand showcases rare decorative techniques: Grand Feu enamel, classic guilloché, fine hand engraving on precious metals, marquetry and miniature painting. Each dial becomes a canvas on which the mechanics take second place to artistic expression.
The technical design serves the artistic purpose. To keep hands from covering the decoration, Vacheron Constantin often uses the specialised in-house calibre 2460 G4. It shows hours, minutes, day and date on discs through four discreet apertures around the edge of the dial, leaving the centre entirely free for the enamellers and engravers.
Métiers d'Art cases are traditionally made in precious metals — 18 ct (750) rose and white gold and 950 platinum. Case shapes range from classic rounds to refined cushion and tonneau forms reflecting historical Art Deco and Baroque styles. Every piece in the collection bears the strict quality mark of the Geneva Seal (Poinçon de Genève), which guarantees the precision of assembly and the finishing of every component.
Métiers d'Art occupies a special niche as rare collectors' pieces. These are not watches for displaying status in everyday business, but objects for private collecting and exclusive occasions. Collectors value the series for its historical continuity, the complexity of its enamel miniatures and an artistic standing that remains independent of market trends.
