Panthère de Cartier is a collection of jewellery watches from Cartier, first introduced in 1983; in 2017 the brand brought the line back to its catalogue after a break. It is recognisable by its square case with rounded corners and exposed screws on the bezel, flowing into a flexible bracelet of small links, itself called Panthère. The silvered dial carries Roman numerals, a ‘railway’ minute track and sword-shaped blued steel hands. The faceted crown is set with a blue cabochon: synthetic spinel on steel and two-tone watches, sapphire on gold ones, and on some diamond versions a diamond instead.
Panthère de Cartier watches are mostly women's models with quartz movements, from understated steel pieces to gold watches with diamonds. The stones are set on the bezel, on the bracelet links, or cover the whole case together with the dial — full pavé. Besides the classic silvered dial there are white, grey, brown, green, blue and black dials, including onyx. Two models stand apart: the Mini on a Triple Tour bracelet and La Panthère de Cartier with a round case, a mesh bracelet and a sculpted panther's head.
