Cartier Ballon Bleu

ABOUT COLLECTION

Ballon Bleu de Cartier is a collection of round watches from the French house Cartier, first shown in 2007 at the SIHH in Geneva. The case is domed on both sides — both the crystal and the caseback are curved — so the watch resembles a smooth pebble. The line's key detail is an arch that forms one piece with the case: the crown with its blue cabochon is set beneath it, hence the “bleu” in the name.

The dial relies on the house's hallmarks: silvered flinqué guilloché radiating from the centre, Roman numerals, a railway-track minute scale and blued-steel sword-shaped hands. The current Ballon Bleu size range is 28, 33, 36, 40 and 42 mm, from small women's watches to large men's models.

Ballon Bleu comes in steel, in pink gold and in steel combined with pink or yellow gold, on a bracelet or a leather strap.
