Breguet Classique is the collection of classically styled wristwatches in which Breguet embodies the horological canons of Abraham-Louis Breguet. It is recognised by the fluted case band, soldered straight lugs with screwed strap bars, and blued-steel hands with Breguet “pomme” tips. On many models the dial is gold with hand-made guilloché — Clous de Paris or Grain d'orge; it is usually silvered, though white and blue versions exist.
The Classique collection comprises several families. The core consists of watches without complications or with a date, such as the Breguet Classique Automatic Ultra Slim. Calendar models add moon phase and power reserve: on the Classique Moon Phase the moon-phase indicator is at 12 o'clock, while the Classique 7137 White Gold 39mm adds a date indicator. For travel there is the Classique Hora Mundi, where the second time zone changes at the push of a button together with the date and day/night indicator, and the Classique Réveil du Tsar with a mechanical alarm. The most complicated models — tourbillons, perpetual calendar and minute repeater — belong to the Complications and Grande Complications series. The Classique Souscription 250th Anniversary was released for the brand's 250th anniversary, with a single hand and a Grand Feu enamel dial.
Case size depends on the family. Men's watches without complications or with a date measure 34 to 40 mm; tourbillons and moon-phase models are usually 39 mm; the minute repeater is 42 mm; the Hora Mundi 43 or 44 mm; and La Musicale, which plays a tune from Rossini's opera “La gazza ladra”, 48 mm.
If you prefer an open movement, take a look at Breguet Tradition, where the movement's components are moved to the dial side. Oval women's watches are collected in Breguet Reine de Naples, and sporty-elegant ones in Breguet Marine.
