Richard Mille RM 35

ABOUT COLLECTION

The RM 35 is a sports line from Richard Mille, created with tennis legend Rafael Nadal: the watch had to withstand the impact of striking the ball and be barely noticeable on the wrist. The first, in 2014, was the hand-wound RM 35-01 – its RMUL3 calibre beats at 4 Hz, two barrels provide a 55-hour power reserve, and the movement weighs 4 grams and has been tested to over 5,000 g.

A recognisable feature of the line is the tonneau case in layered Carbon TPT® and Quartz TPT® composites, which gives every case a unique layer pattern. The calibre's baseplate and bridges are Grade 5 titanium with black PVD coating or Titalyt® treatment, and spline screws in the same titanium run around the bezel and case, with tightening torque controlled during both assembly and servicing.

The RM 35 collection then moved on to automatic generations. The RM 35-02 appeared in 2016, with the skeletonised RMAL1 calibre showing hours, minutes and seconds, a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour and a patented variable-geometry rotor; its case was made in Carbon TPT® and in red Quartz TPT® with white veining. The RM 35-03 uses the RMAL2 calibre with a butterfly rotor and a power reserve of around 55 hours. It is easiest to choose by generation and case size – 42 or 43.15 mm. Examples include the Rafael Nadal Automatic Quartz TPT® and the Rafael Nadal NTPT 2021. Related Richard Mille series include the RM 011, RM 055, RM 11-03 and RM 67-02.
