Perrelet Turbine is a collection from the Swiss brand Perrelet, which traces its history to Abraham-Louis Perrelet and his self-winding mechanism. The first Turbine watches were introduced in 2009. Above the lower dial sits a turbine, usually with twelve blades. The blades spin at the slightest movement of the wrist, revealing the pattern beneath. The idea grew out of the double rotor system on which the sister collection Perrelet Double Rotor is built.
Turbine watches are chosen by case size, functions and the pattern beneath the blades. These are men's watches with round cases: the main size is 44 mm, with 47 mm for the GMT Turbine and Turbine Chrono Sport and 48 mm for the Turbine XL models. Some models have a date. GMT models show a second time zone on a 24-hour scale and have a world map beneath the turbine. The Turbine Chrono Sport is a chronograph with a tachymeter scale. Each model has its own pattern on the lower dial, revealed as the turbine spins: poker hands on the Turbine Poker, a roulette wheel with a green zero on the Turbine XL Vegas and camouflage on the Turbine Camo.
