Czapek Antarctique

ABOUT COLLECTION

Antarctique is a sports line with an integrated bracelet from the independent Swiss manufacture Czapek & Cie; the first models came out in 2020. The steel case flows smoothly into the bracelet. Flat surfaces are satin-brushed, edges and bevels polished, and the central bracelet links echo the letter C — the first letter of the brand's name. The crystal is sapphire and the caseback transparent.

Most watches in the line use the SXH5 calibre — Czapek's first in-house movement, created from scratch; the Rattrapante split-seconds chronograph has its own SHX6 calibre. Automatic winding is by micro-rotor, and the seven skeletonised bridges refer to François Czapek's 19th-century pocket watches. The Passage de Drake and Revelation have a platinum rotor, the Green Explosion Limited Edition one in 18-carat gold. The frequency is 28,800 vibrations per hour and the power reserve 60 hours.

Within the line the choice is by dial and size. The Passage de Drake has a closed dial with the Stairway to Eternity relief. On the Antarctique Revelation the dial is skeletonised, showing the movement from the front. There is also the limited Green Explosion Limited Edition. The Czapek & Cie Antarctique Rattrapante Ice Blue split-seconds chronograph stands apart with a 42 mm case, while the other models measure 38.5 or 40.5 mm. All are steel, with a bracelet and a rubber strap.

Each product page lists the condition, what is included, reference, calibre, case size, power reserve and water resistance. The brand's other line is Faubourg de Cracovie.
