The Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Double Balance Wheel Openworked 37 mm (ref. 15467BC.OO.1256BC.01) is a men's sports watch with a 37 mm octagonal case in stainless steel. It has a grey dial under sapphire crystal.

It is powered by the self-winding mechanical calibre 3132 with a power reserve of up to 60 hours. Functions: Date. Water-resistant to 50 m. The watch is fitted with an integrated steel royal oak bracelet with an AP folding clasp in steel.

This example is brand new, dated 2024, and comes with the original box and papers.

In-house caliber 5900 was developed for the generation of 37 mm Royal Oak cases. Compared with its predecessors, it has a higher balance frequency of 4 Hz (28,800 vibrations per hour) and a slimmer 3.9 mm height.

ABOUT BRAND

Audemars Piguet was founded in 1875 in Le Brassus, in the Vallée de Joux, by Jules-Louis Audemars and Edward-Auguste Piguet, and is still owned by the founding families. The house built its reputation on complicated watches and, in 1972, launched the Royal Oak, designed by Gérald Genta: a steel sports watch with an octagonal bezel held by eight visible screws, a "Tapisserie" dial and an integrated bracelet.

The Royal Oak family dominates the range: the classic Royal Oak in steel, gold, titanium and ceramic, the slim "Jumbo" Extra-Thin, openworked and skeleton versions, perpetual calendars and tourbillon chronographs. The larger, sportier Royal Oak Offshore followed in 1993, alongside the Royal Oak Concept and the round Code 11.59 collection introduced in 2019.
