The Patek Philippe Golden Ellipse (ref. 3738/100G 012) is a dress watch with a 35.6 mm oval case in white gold. It has a grey dial under sapphire crystal.
It is powered by a self-winding mechanical movement. Features: 22k gold micro-rotor, ultra-thin case, golden ratio geometry, sunburst dial, applied white gold markers. Water-resistant to 30 m. The watch is fitted with an alligator leather strap with a pin buckle in 18k white gold.
This example is pre-owned and in good condition.
The ultra-thin automatic 240 caliber was introduced by the manufacture in 1977. Its key feature is an integrated 22-carat gold micro-rotor set level with the bridges, giving a movement just 2.53 mm thick.

Patek Philippe was founded in Geneva in 1839 by Antoine Norbert de Patek and François Czapek; the watchmaker Adrien Philippe joined Patek in 1845, and the firm took its current name in 1851. Still independent and family-owned, the manufacture is known for hand-finished movements and for complications such as perpetual calendars, minute repeaters and astronomical displays.
Key collections include the Calatrava, the classic round dress watch; the Nautilus, the steel sports watch designed by Gérald Genta in 1976; the Aquanaut; and the Grand Complications, which include models such as the Sky Moon Celestial. Ladies' watches, the Golden Ellipse and the Gondolo are also part of the catalogue.
