The UR-210 is a line from Urwerk, the independent Geneva brand founded in 1997 by watchmaker Felix Baumgartner and designer Martin Frei. The line was introduced in 2012. The brand now classes it among its historical models, and new UR-210 watches are no longer made.
What defines the UR-210 is how it tells the time. The hour numerals are carried on rotating cube satellites. A large frame-shaped minute hand captures the current hour and carries it along the 60-minute scale. At the end of the hour the frame snaps back to the start in a fraction of a second and picks up the next satellite — a retrograde minute that makes the line recognisable from a distance. The second distinctive feature is controlled automatic winding: the rotor's action is regulated by a turbine system, with the mode selected by a switch on the caseback. A winding efficiency indicator on the dial shows whether the wearer's movement is keeping the mainspring sufficiently wound.
The model offered is the UR-210 Steel Limited Edition. It has a complex 43.8 mm steel case with satin-finished surfaces and polished edges, and a sapphire crystal. The dial is in silver and grey-anthracite tones and includes a power reserve indicator. Inside is the self-winding calibre UR-7.10 with a 39-hour power reserve. The watch dates from 2018 and comes with box and papers; condition and photographs are in the listing.
