Complications is the line of Patek Philippe wristwatches with everyday complications: annual calendar, chronograph, world time and second time zone. It sits above the classic Calatrava and below the Grand Complications, which covers the perpetual calendar, minute repeater and tourbillon.
The backbone of the line is the annual calendar, patented by the manufacture in 1996. The first movement to feature it was calibre 315 S QA, used in the 5035G with a salmon dial. In the 5146, the day and month are shown by hands on sub-dials, alongside the moon phase and a power reserve indicator. In the 5205, the day, date and month appear in three windows arranged in an arc at the top of the dial, with the moon phase below. The 5396 combines the calendar with a 24-hour scale and moon phase.
In this line the chronograph is also paired with the annual calendar. The 5905 has a flyback function: reset and restart with a single press. The 5960 gathers its timing readings on a single monocounter at the bottom of the dial, and its calibre CH 28-520 IRM QA 24H was the manufacture's first in-house automatic chronograph. World Time models show the time in 24 time zones on a city ring and a day/night disc: the 5130, the 5131 with a map of the continents in cloisonné enamel, and the 5930 with a flyback chronograph. World Time also has its own page. The 5326G combines the annual calendar with the Travel Time second time zone and moon phase, and its case flanks are decorated with Clous de Paris.
Cases are made of 18-carat white, rose and yellow gold, 950 platinum and steel, from 29 to 42 mm. Most watches come on a leather strap, some on a gold or steel bracelet, and there are canvas and satin straps too. Production years range from 2008 to 2025.
