DiW Speedster GMT

ABOUT COLLECTION

Speedster GMT is one of the lines in which the DiW (Designa Individual Watches) atelier creates individual watches based on production models. The base here is the Rolex GMT-Master II: DiW keeps its architecture and movement, while making the case and dial from forged carbon. The result is a men's watch with a second time zone and a very light case.

Forged carbon is pressed from short carbon fibres with resin. It has a marbled look, and every case has its own pattern. The GMT Carbon Golden Sail 2021 adds yellow gold to the carbon: the bezel edge around the carbon insert, the crown, the applied indices and the hands on the black carbon dial are gold. The bezel rotates in both directions, the crown screws down, the crystal is sapphire and the markers and hands are luminous.

The movement is the automatic Rolex 3285 calibre, with a Chronergy escapement in nickel-phosphorus alloy and a Parachrom hairspring; it is COSC-certified and has a 70-hour power reserve. The second time zone is shown by a separate central hand on a 24-hour scale. The main hands are set to local time and home time is read from this hand — convenient for frequent travellers. There is also a date.

Within the line, watches are compared by the finish of the bezel and dial, the strap and what is included. DiW Speedster and DiW GMT-Master have similar names but are separate lines.
