The Cartier Santos Large PVD Steel Custom Black Diamonds (ref. WSSA0018/WSSA0030 FIX) is an everyday watch with a 39.8 mm square case in stainless steel. It has a blue dial under sapphire crystal.
It is powered by the self-winding mechanical calibre 1847 MC with a power reserve of 42 hours. Functions: Date. Water-resistant to 10 m. The watch is fitted with a Santos bracelet with a folding clasp in steel.
This example is brand new, and comes with the original box and papers.
The in-house self-winding Cartier 1847 MC caliber beats at 28,800 vph. It has a soft-iron anti-magnetic shield and escapement parts in nickel-phosphorus alloy.

Cartier was founded in Paris in 1847 by Louis-François Cartier and grew into one of the best-known jewellers in the world under his grandsons Louis, Pierre and Jacques. Its watchmaking history includes the Santos, created in 1904 for the aviator Alberto Santos-Dumont and one of the first wristwatches designed for men, and the Tank of 1917. The panther, used as a motif since the early 20th century, remains a signature of the house.
