The Rolex Oyster Perpetual Explorer II Black Dial 2020 (ref. 216570) is a men's sports watch with a 42 mm round case in stainless steel. The dial is protected by sapphire crystal.
It is powered by the self-winding mechanical calibre 3187, Rolex in-house with a power reserve of 48 hours. Functions: Second time zone, date. Water-resistant to 100 m. The watch is fitted with an Oyster bracelet with an Oysterlock in steel.
This example is brand new, and comes with the original box and papers.
Self-winding in-house caliber 3187 was developed by Rolex specifically for larger cases. It has a blue Parachrom hairspring and the Paraflex shock absorbers, for resistance to shocks and temperature changes.

Rolex was founded in London in 1905 by Hans Wilsdorf and Alfred Davis, registered the Rolex name in 1908 and moved to Geneva after the First World War. The company built its reputation on robust, precise everyday watches: the waterproof Oyster case of 1926, the Perpetual self-winding rotor of 1931 and the Datejust of 1945, the first self-winding wristwatch to show the date in a dial window.
