The Breitling Navitimer 8 (ref. A17314101C1X2) is a men's pilot's watch with a 41 mm round case in stainless steel. It has a blue dial under sapphire crystal.
It is powered by the self-winding mechanical calibre 17 with a power reserve of up to 40 hours. Functions: Date. Water-resistant to 100 m. The watch is fitted with a leather strap with a classic buckle in steel.
This example is brand new, and comes with the original box and papers.
The Breitling 17 caliber is based on the time-tested ETA 2824-2 mechanical platform and is certified by the Swiss chronometer institute (COSC). It runs at 28,800 vibrations per hour and has automatic winding.

Breitling was founded in 1884 by Léon Breitling in Saint-Imier, Switzerland, and later moved to Grenchen. The brand built its reputation on chronographs and instruments for aviation: it played an important part in developing the wrist chronograph with an independent pusher and introduced the Navitimer, with its slide-rule bezel for pilots, in 1952.
Today the main families are the Navitimer, the Chronomat with its rouleaux bracelet, the Superocean divers and the Avenger. The Professional line includes the Endurance Pro and the quartz Aerospace and Exospace B55 models, while the Aviator 8 and Super Chronomat (including the in-house B01 chronograph calibre) complete the range.
