The Rolex 1908 Platinum (ref. 52506) is a men's dress watch with a 39 mm round case in platinum. It has a light blue dial under sapphire crystal.
It is powered by a self-winding mechanical movement. Features: Small seconds, guilloché dial, transparent caseback, dualclasp. Water-resistant to 50 m. The watch is fitted with an alligator strap with a Dualclasp folding clasp in 950 platinum.
Automatic caliber 7140 was developed specifically for the 1908 collection and has a silicon Syloxi hairspring and the Chronergy escapement. The transparent caseback shows Rolex Côtes de Genève finishing and a yellow gold rotor.

Rolex was founded in London in 1905 by Hans Wilsdorf and Alfred Davis, registered the Rolex name in 1908 and moved to Geneva after the First World War.
