Jean Richard TV Screen

ABOUT COLLECTION

TV Screen is a line from the Swiss brand JeanRichard with a case shaped like a television screen, introduced in the 1990s. At the time the brand belonged to Luigi Macaluso, owner of the Girard-Perregaux manufacture. Until 2003 it was called Daniel JeanRichard, so the watches are found as both Daniel JeanRichard TV Screen and JeanRichard TV Screen.

The name explains the case. Its shape follows the screen of an old television set, with gently rounded corners and edges — a tonneau of sorts. The stepped bezel makes the watch look smaller, and the curved caseback follows the wrist, so the watch slips under a shirt cuff. The line includes three-hand models and chronographs, as well as ladies' watches in gold with diamonds.

One example is the ladies' Chronoscope White Gold & Diamonds Moscow Limited Edition, reference 26013, which belongs to the TV Screen collection. It has a 28 mm case in 18-carat white gold with diamonds on the bezel and lugs. The dial is white with guilloché, the markers are Arabic numerals and diamond dots, and the blued hands are leaf-shaped. The strap is black leather with a white gold buckle.

Within the line, the choice is made first of all by case size and metal and by functions, and for a pre-owned piece also by condition and accessories. The brand's other lines are Bressel 1665, Paramount and Worldscope.
