Jacob & Co Epic X

Epic X is a Jacob & Co collection in which the case and movement are built around a single shape — the letter X. The bridges of the calibre stand vertically and continue the lines of the lugs, together forming an X-shaped frame. There is no traditional dial: its role is played by the skeletonised movement itself. The barrel and balance are aligned on a single vertical axis.

Case material is titanium, straps are rubber and the crystal is sapphire. There are two calibres, JCAM02 and JCAM45, both in-house, developed specifically for the series and hand-wound. Jacob & Co has also made the Epic X in 18-carat gold cases.

The versions differ in finish and colour. The Epic X Skeleton Titanium is natural titanium with coloured details that give the models their names: Green, Yellow, White. The Racing Red and Racing Yellow are titanium with PVD coating, black on the Racing Yellow, and their bridges have red or yellow accents. The Titanium (black Neoralithe Inner Ring) is natural titanium with a black inner ring, as the name says.

Within the line it is easiest to choose by three things: natural titanium or PVD coating, the colour of the accents, and water resistance, which differs between models.
