Bovet Amadeo Fleurier

ABOUT COLLECTION

The Amadeo Fleurier collection comes from the Swiss brand Bovet, founded by Édouard Bovet in 1822. The line is recognised by its Amadeo system: the crown and protective bow are placed at 12 o'clock, as on the manufacture's 19th-century pocket chronometers, and the wristwatch can be converted into a pocket watch or table clock without any special tools. The system is patented by the brand.

Within the line, watches are chosen by complication. The Amadeo Fleurier Monsieur has a power-reserve indicator; its small black guilloché dial is shifted towards the top, and the wheels and escapement are visible through the rest. The Amadeo Grand Complications 45 7-day Tourbillon adds a tourbillon, its cage open in the lower aperture of the black guilloché dial, with the power-reserve scale at the top. The Amadeo Fleurier Complications Tourbillon Jumping Hours shows the tourbillon and the bridges of its manufacture calibre through a skeletonised dial with a blue outer scale.

The watches covered here are in white and pink gold, from 43 to 47 mm. The tourbillon models are men's watches. The leather strap's buckle is made of the same gold as the case. All have sapphire crystals, and the Monsieur and Complications Tourbillon Jumping Hours have transparent casebacks. The finishing is done by hand: on the Complications Tourbillon Jumping Hours the calibre's bridges are hand-engraved, on the Monsieur they are hand-decorated, and on the Grand Complications engraving covers the bezel, the lugs and the top bow. The brand calls its traditional hand engraving Fleurisanne.

The brand also has a companion line with a similar name, Bovet Fleurier, which has its own page.
