Jules Audemars is a classic Audemars Piguet collection named after Jules Audemars, one of the company's founders. Unlike the sporty Royal Oak, these are formal wristwatches to wear with a suit. They have a round case, a thin, gently sloping bezel and curved lugs, so the watch sits close to the wrist and slips under a shirt cuff.

The collection comes in 18-carat pink and white gold, with case diameters from 36 to 43 mm. The crystal is sapphire, the caseback transparent, and the leather strap has a gold buckle matching the case. Some dials feature guilloché: silvered with Roman numerals on the classic model, pink with a geometric pattern on the Jules Audemars Ladies Chronograph. The Jules Chronograph White Gold has a plain cream dial with Breguet Arabic numerals and a tachymeter. The movement of the classic model is hand-finished with Côtes de Genève, and its rotor is made of 21-carat gold.

All the movements covered here are self-winding, and the calibre is the easiest way to tell the versions apart:

  • AP 2229/2845 — small seconds, pointer date and power-reserve indicator;
  • Audemars Piguet 2385 — column-wheel chronograph;
  • AP 3124/3841 — chronograph based on the manufacture 3120, with a 60-hour power reserve;
  • AP 2120/2808 — perpetual calendar with moon phase and equation of time;
  • Audemars Piguet 2875 — tourbillon with power-reserve indicator and date.

Minute repeaters were also produced in the collection in the past.

It makes sense to choose in order: first the complication, then case material and size, then condition and accessories. The collection includes both men's and women's watches.
